Venue: S120, Seminar Hall

In honour of Women’s Day, MCC-IIC collaborated with MCC-EDC to
organize an event titled “Sheroes”. The event was bifurcated into two
sessions. Session 1 was a competition conducted by IIC, and session 2
was an exclusive panel discussion on “Breaking the Glass Ceiling.”

The Session 1 event was emceed by Lourdhu Vidhusha, IIC Event
Coordinator. The event kicked off at 10:00 a.m. in S120 with an
opening prayer by Dr. M. Beutline, Bioinformatics Analyst. We
organized a pitch fest competition named “Fish Tank,” where
participants were given on-the-spot problem statements and had to
come up with innovative and creative solutions to the problems
without the aid of written texts or visual media. This event was jointly
judged by Dr. Vijayalakshmi, Assistant Professor from the Department
of Chemistry (SFS), and an MCC student entrepreneur, A. Ajay Vasagam
from 2nd Year in Public Administration. The competition was
coordinated by Sooraj Govind, IIC Innovation Coordinator, and
Prashanth, IIC Entrepreneurship Coordinator. We had several
participants taking part in the competition and showcasing their
spontaneous solutions to the problem statements given to them. After
the competition, refreshments were served to the participants,
audience, and faculty members.

Next, we started Session 2 at 12:30 p.m. at the same venue, which was
emceed by Prashanth, IIC Entrepreneurship Coordinator. The event
was graced by the presence of eminent guest speakers Sangeeta Bala
from Think Infinity, M.V. Subramanian from July Ventures, and
Jayamalini Venkat from Mind fresh.
